I have always found that when my argument breaks down into being discourteous ( ie rude ), then what that really means is that my point can no longer stand on its own merits. This probably occurs to me too often. As most of us are aware, there is plenty of room on this board for heated debate and disagreement, but we should also remember that there is a wide range of backgrounds and ages on this board, and to try to factor that into our comments. |

| I admire the staff and moderators of criticaldance.com for setting down some ground rules and making us all adhere to them. If we break a rule, we need to fix it and be respectful especially since it is a priviledge to be able to post here. IMHO, it furthers noone's opinion if we are rude, vulgar or hurtful in our remarks. Also, in my humble opinion, there is a lot of time and care that has gone into this forum. This is what I notice and I appreciate the fact that it is a fair and even handed forum; and a place where everyone can voice their opinion or help to others and be respected in the process. BRAVO to criticaldance.com for having the strength and conviction to keep your standards high! |

Yes, I agree with Ballet Gorilla. This forum gives a fair chance to everyone to speak their mind in a polite fashion. I have discovered that is a very special kind of community, not to be taken lightly.

May I suggest that CriticalDance's Head Moderator consider adding
the following stipulation to the courtesy rules link in order to avoid the "tedium" of back and forth useless arguing that you describe?
CriticalDance is not a fan website for any one artist, as opposed to
other artists in the same company, or artists in other companies.
Thank you for your kind consideration regarding this matter, and
have a great day! |
