There is such a wealth of riches here that it's difficult to know where to start. I have happy memories of Matthew Bourne's original "Nutcracker!", but this will be the first show made by his new company New Adventures.

We have been reading the wide range of views about Eifman from our American colleagues Ballet for some time. So now we have the chance to take stock of this controversial company. Lyon Opera Ballet are also a company that I have wanted to see for sometime.

Congratulations to the affable and clever Programming Director at Sadler's Wells, Alistair Spalding.

Sigh, I guess it is time to spend more money on tickets! How is a girl supposed to save in the face of such temptation?

One doesn't save money but one becomes enriched by culture. Er - weak - but a justification nonetheless.

Dance Theatre of Harlem - I have never seen the company before and am intrigued.

Sorry to ask such a basic question, but what is the relationship between Sadler Wells and The Royal ballet/Covent Garden?

None really Matthew, except that the RB and the RO performed at Sadler's when the ROH was being rebuilt. The RB had two excellent seasons with more imaginative programming than they usually can in the ROH.

There's a very short report in The financial Times that Sadler's Wells has appointed Harry MacAuslan chairman of its development council.

"His task will be to promote the theatre's growth in line with the new corporate strategy, unveiled recently by Jean-Luc Choplin, chief executive.

MacAuslan, a member of the Sadler's Wells board of trustees since 1995, is deputy chairman of J. Walter Thompson, the international advertising agency."
