Nina Alovert • 40 Years Photographing Ballet 14-24 May, Luke & A.
Ever since Dance Books closed central London can be a wilderness for dance fans if you are not going to a show. However, the Luke & A Gallery is an oasis for ballet lovers. This delightful, airy gallery frequently has exhibitions of ballet, usually associated with St Petersburg dance.
Until 24th May they have an exhibition of high quality celebrating the career of Nina Alovert. There are so many wonderful images of ballet icons from the 2nd half of the 20th Century, including Baryshnikov, Asylmuratova, Zelensky, Makarova, Ruzimatov etc etc. If you love Russian ballet do go and see the sympathetic treatment of these dancers by a master photographer.
