High Society

There have been several unsatisfactory attempts to stage High Society over the years and this production appears to be similar to the one that flopped on Broadway in 1998. It has a book by Arthur Kopit and a selection of Cole Porter standards which supplement those drawn from his score for the 1956 film musical of the same title.

The story is still basically the one featured in the movie and its original source, Philip Barry's play The Philadelphia Story.
