The article is interesting in itself, Maria, although, given its serious content, it might be better in "Issues" rather than here. I leave this to the Moderators.
The author talks about her "training as a ballerina", but it looks as though he is not familiar with the precise use of the word. The usual definition in the dance world for a ballerina is for an exceptionally gifted ballet dancer ie usually a term associated with principals.
Another site tells us that:
Quote:
....her mother, a Vegas showgirl who died when Jenna was 2.
In grade school, she took dance lessons and entered beauty pageants in an attempt to follow in her mother's footsteps. Her troubled teen years followed a different path: Left home at 16, topless dancing at 17, posing in Hustler at 18, starring in her first pornographic movie at 19.
Thus I see no evidence that Jenna was ever a "ballerina" or even a serious ballet student. It looks as though she attended some dance classes when she was young, rather than someone who followed a radical path after a career in ballet.
As Maria says there is no problem with the link she posted. Just a reminder to everyone that other sites featuring Jenna could well prove problematic for CriticalDance.
