'The way programs come together is like making sausage," Nigel Redden, director of the Lincoln Center Festival, said recently. "If you ever saw people making sausage, you'd never eat it again. There are old shoes and entrails and whatnot."
In his crisp, white shirt and tie, ensconsed in his office at Lincoln Center, Redden looked very little like a sausage maker at work. But he was, of course, joshingly referring to the yearly process of putting together the international arts festival.
