We mustn't ingnore the competitive aspect of dance, folks! Every time a dancer goes to an audition for a job, it's a comptetion. Every time a dancer gets reviewed and gets compared by a critic to a previous or other current dancer doing the same role, it's a competition. Even at high level, artistically trained dancers, it's a competition, make no mistake about it. Every time a critic or writer or audience member counts the number of pirouettes, it's a competition! Of course, it's not a "team sport" like football, and there is not the codified league, championship structure working.
