Rambert are going back to their modern roots and have just started touring a programme that includes two Tetley works. The initial reviews are strong and the prformances will no doubt mature as the company go round the country. They come to London's Sadler's Wells at the end of May.
The key role of Pierrot is taken by Conor O'Brien. He is much the same build and appearance as the young Christopher Bruce and he can't 'alf dance. Over the past two years he has had the chance to dance a number of parts close to Bruce's heart - The Poet in 'Cruel Garden', the Prisoner in 'Swansong' and now the role that established Bruce as a leading light in the UK modern dance world.
