I don't know very much about Mark Morris. I saw one thing of his on PBS once and have read a few reviews of his work. I didn't like the piece I saw on PBS and a friend who went to a show of his in Toronto told me he looks very self absorbed on stage. Like he dances for himself rather than his audience. <BR>I would be interested to hear another's opinion.

Well, Mark Morris may sometimes seem self-absorbed but he does create some fascinating works, including some incredibly witty ones. His "Hard Nut," which is a spoof on "The Nutcracker," is a real hoot and a crowd pleaser. There is also the one he created for SF Ballet last season, where he had the dancers don lime-green varsity outfits -- now, that was really funny. So, I would say, on the whole, there is much to enjoy in Morris' choreography.
