Interview with Arthur Mitchell and Peter Martins

Peter Martins New York City Ballet will salute Dance Theater of Haarlem in three shared programs on Thursday, Saturday night and next Sunday afternoon at the New York State Theater. In late March, Arthur Mitchell, ex-NYCB dancer and founder of Dance Theatre of Haarlem, and Peter Martins, a principal dancer at City Ballet who became artistic director of the company after Balanchine's death in 1983, talked with Jennifer Dunning of The New York Times backstage at the State Theater about the joys and perils of directing ballet troupes. Sarah Kaufman comments on the Bravo profile for the Washington Post.
