Announced in the German press, the former Mariinsky premiere danseur will head up the Bavarian State Opera Ballet for the 2016/17 season according to this article. (although German is not one of the languages I speak)

Great.Thank you for the post.Today it was officially confirmed by the Bavarian State Ministry, that Zelensky will be the new director of the Bavarian State Ballet for the next 5 years.(Rumors had been around for months) That's good news, because he will be able to do the balancing act to keep the classical tradition on a high level but yet persue the modern line, that has been successfully installed.He has experience in leading a company and propably excellent contacts within the danceworld. The officials were positively impressed by his serious interest in the Academy and the Junior-Company. We all hope very much, that this will be a successful story and a compensation for the decline in Berlin.
