Linda Villella will resign her position as director of the Miami City Ballet School as of August 31, 2012. She will be replaced by incoming artistic director Lourdes Lopez. Jordan Levin reports in the Miami Herald.

The Associated Press reports that Edward Villella has decided to leave Miami City Ballet immediately (as of Tuesday, September 4, 2012) instead of continuing through the 2012-13 season. Lourdes Lopez will take over as artistic director immediately.
