[size=150]I'm looking for some quality ballet instructional DVDs and would love some advice on which ones to get. I have some experience in ballet but would really like to improve my technique/foundation, so I'd probably want a Beginner level lesson. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank You!!!

Couldn't agree more with the two suggestions. Neither are cheap though.

Awesome, thank you! I'll check these suggestions out, I used to have a few VHS tapes of Finus Jhung but I remember them being kind of slow, but maybe that was the point.

One of my dance teachers also told me to do a lot of yoga because it strengthens your core and helps with flexibility & balance (which I definitely need to work on, balance especially). I have a few yoga DVDs but they also seem to be kind of hit-and-miss...

If you also do yoga are there any dvds you'd recommend?

I'm not a super yoga expert but I've done it for several years, I guess an intermediate level, I think the main thing I'm looking for in a yoga dvd is a good rhythm, as though in a regular class where you're continually moving through the poses. It's hard to get into the flow of it when they stop too often with dialogue.

I personally don't believe that yoga enhances ballet study. Pilates is a better choice, in my opinion. Some of the yoga positions might actually be stretching in a way that may be counterproductive to ballet which uses rotation (turn-out) as a basis for structure and strength... Just my personal opinion... I have studied yoga a bit in retirement from ballet and have noticed this. David... Thanks for the link!

Well the main reason I was considering doing yoga more often is because I struggle with my balance, it's frustrating for me in classes because it makes the moves requiring good balance nearly impossible for me. Since you suggested Pilates as a better choice, have you had any good experiences with Pilates videos (preferably ones that have a continuous flow throughout the video)?
