NYCB principal dancer Tiler Peck will be performing on Tuesday's (April 13th) Dancing with the Stars show. Apparently she will be dancing a piece with Danny Tidwell that is choreographed by Travis Wall. From what I've read, this piece will include a variety of dance styles.

I'm excited to see ballet dancers getting national TV coverage, but it would be nice to see them in something other than a mish-mash of dance styles. If you are getting ballet dancers, why are they doing hip hop and modern as some of the previews suggest. It makes me feel like people think that a pure ballet or pure modern dance piece wouldn't be interesting. Obviously, the small 'stage' size limits what pieces can be done, but there are certainly classical pieces which don't need a huge space. And I'm not sure about Travis Wall's choreographic talents - hopefully this will be better than the other stuff Tidwell has being doing lately.

In the New York Times, Julie Bloom has a "Q & A" session with Tiler Peck about her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars." A video clip of the performance is included.
