I found this on the BBC web site and thought I'd share it. A nine year old spending her pocket money on make up is a bit worrying though.

It is a bit troubling. I think it's best that the parents should educate their children more on money matters so that they can start saving as well.

This is why it is important to teach our kids how important it is to learn about money and become responsible money managers. Reading books and talking with children about money management topics during the early, formative years is ideal because this is when life habits and skills are developed.
