Choreographer communicates in ‘language of tango’
“I want to take risks,” said dancer and choreographer Guillermina Quiroga, .... And considering that her dance of choice, the tango, is one of the sexiest and most provocative art forms, Boston audiences could be in for something special.

“Historias Breves (Short Stories)” showcases an ensemble of dancers, including Quiroga’s longtime partner Claudio Villagra, with live music by LosCosos de al Lao, set to original choreography by the Buenos Aires native.

Quiroga herself is the undisputed star of the show. She and partner Cesar Coelho have a distinctively elegant style combining stunningly long lines with graceful, liquid curves - both dancers have significant ballet training, and it shows to dazzling effect. Quiroga's legs extend with impeccable control into flamboyant splits and kicks, and Coelho sails through buoyant midair turns.
