i just started pointe this year, and so far so good. One problem is that for the dance my group is doinng for the recital well we start out in ballet and then change to pointe very quickly. Since its my first time and alos the first time of the other in thr group we can't change into our pointe shoes fast enough. Is there a way to get our shoes ready so it will have us able to put on our pointe shoes faster?

Hello, allalone32, and welcome to CriticalDance. You should place your pointe shoes in the wings somewhere where you can easily find them so you don't have to run back to the dressing room to change. You will not have enough time to sew ribbons, so I suggest having some cloth tape next to your shoes to quickly tape your ribbons after they are tied, instead of sewing them. You wouldn't want your ribbons to come out during your performance. This can be quite unsettling and distracting... . Instead of using water to wet your heels (this helps your shoes to stay put better), you could quickly use a little rosin on your heels before you slip your pointe shoes on. I use to have informal and "fun" contests amongst my students to see who could do this the fastest (change pointe shoes). Although they all got more better and organized, the winner was always the same person -- one of our adult students and our School Registrar, Julie Grooms. She could, and can, change her shoes at lightening speed. It's really impressive.
