It's pretty rare for a book on ballet to sell like hot cakes, but this book is doing exactly that. When I first attempted to buy a copy the shop had sold out and I was told to come back on Saturday when they were expecting another delivery. After seeing my copy, a friend went back to buy one for herself yesterday and managed to pick up the last one in the shop.

Although this book is written completely in Danish, the wonderful photos of Lund and his RDB colleagues make it a ballet picture book that deserves a place on every ballet goer’s bookshelf, as it is a high quality publication with attractive layout. As far as I can make out the book covers far more than Thomas Lund's career and covers the repertoire and personnel of the RDB during his time with both the company and the school.

Cassandra - is there a store in London carrying the book?

Gyldendal doesn't ship outside of Denmark, so I'll have to wait until my next trip to Denmark to buy the book. It'll be good to have a chance to use my Danish again, and I'll report in on what Lund has to say... I've interviewed Thomas twice and he's equally as articulate and interesting in both English and Danish.

I don't know as I bought mine in Magasin on Kongens Nytorv opposite the theatre. It might be worth contacting the store to see if they would ship it to you. By the way, it was published only last week and even the theatre shop didn't have copies.
