Vibeke Wern comments on the 2007 - 2008 season announcement:

Quote:
Frank Andersens sidste udspil

Balletmester Frank Andersen forlader Den Kgl. Ballet sommeren 2008.

Translation:

The Royal Ballet offers in the next season story ballets high on pointe in a good mix with new choreography by Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato and Jorma Elo. [Kate's note - but totally omits Christopher Wheeldon....]

Balletmaster Frank Andersen leaves the Royal Ballet in the summer of 2008. He has been able to bring the company to top form and yesterday presented the programme for his last season as balletmaster. A program, which immediately can seem a little repetitive on its face with old friends like the story ballets 'Onegin', 'Nutcracker' and 'Don Quixote'. But behind more of the well known titles hide new choreographers.

The Royal Ballet's own principal dancer Kenneth Greve, which lately has shown his fine talent in "Lux" at Solberg Church in January, will together with instructor Peter Langdal and set designer Karin Betz, create a whole new version of "Nutcracker" for Old Stage. It will be both exciting and poetic and perhaps also funny.
