My first pointe shoes were a brand called Anello and Davide. I believe that this company is in the UK and still makes handmade shoes. In the 50s, for a time, they made pointe shoes.

My first pointe shoes were Freeds - can't remember the type.

I think I had some Gamba's and Bloch's after that.

bloch aspirations at first i hated them then i really liked them then they died since then i've had GM's, Synergys, serenade, and my current freeds.

...and i broke them within the first two hours of my first pointe class. hah! sometimes i dont know the strength of my feet :lol:

My first pair of pointes were Freeds but transferred to Salvios with the hardest possible shank (Unfortunately I have those terrible feet with extremely high arches. They look beautiful but alas have many problems - and that is why to this day I promote the importance of foot strength. I also get to practice along with my students :D
