Patrick Corbin and Dancers Dancespace Project By Hilary Ostlere for The Financial Times
Patrick Corbin, a veteran of the Paul Taylor Company at 38, has taken time out to develop his own choreography which he's presenting at the Dancespace Project at St Marks Church, a space devoted to nascent dance companies. A dynamic performer, he had a career in classical ballet before joining Taylor 14 years ago. Today he's deservedly recognised as one of its premier dancers.
Rumour, apparently unfounded, has it that Corbin might leave the Taylor company. While new choreographers have to start somewhere, he has something to learn about editing his choreography which can be facile but repetitive, before pursuing the career his mentor has mastered so successfully.
