Stage greats unite to save Theatre Museum

Judi Dench, Peter Hall, Harriet Walter and Corin, Lynn, Jemma and Vanessa Redgrave are among leading figures from the theatre world who have joined the battle to save the Theatre Museum in Covent Garden, which is currently threatened with closure.
In a letter to The Times signed by 18 of Theatreland’s most famous figures, the group called for the Victoria and Albert Museum’s trustees to reject a proposal that could see the organisation’s Covent Garden site closed.

MPs join fight for Theatre Museum survival

MPs including Jeremy Corbyn, Glenda Jackson and Peter Bottomley are rallying behind Covent Garden’s Theatre Museum and backing an Early Day Motion urging the government to intervene to save the site.
The motion, tabled by Labour MP John McDonnell, voices the “grave concern” of members from across the political parties at reports that the museum’s trustees plan to close the collection. It has so far attracted 21 signatures.
