Breasting, brailing, header blocks - language most of you will associate with your theatre’s fly floor. Others might come across a rope lock, hemp line and sandbags. These are all pieces of theatre equipment we might take for granted but they are potentially dangerous.
Just think, as technicians we lift scenery to a height of several metres over an actor’s head. All hung on a piece of string or wire.
