Following the great interest shown on criticaldance in the Paris Opera Ballet visit to California and the reciprocal visit of San Francisco Ballet to Paris, we have decided to launch a French language forum to cater for Francophones worldwide. To start with all the various dance forms and issues will be catered for in one forum, but we'll see how it goes. We are delighted that Catherine Schemm (Cathy on the Board) will be our first French language Moderator. If you can write some French please don't be bashful about posting as views are much more important than perfect grammar.

Danser en francais
[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited May 25, 2001).]

If you're dying to ask a question or make a contribution to the French forum, but your French is as bad as mine, you can try:
babelfish

The title of the new forum, "Danser en francais", which means (I think), "To dance in French," reminds me of the time a patron called Houston Ballet to ask if The Nutcracker would be danced in English.
------------------
Jeffrey E. LOL!!! Don't worry about it Anastasia, we're just here to confuse the masses--now in two languages instead of one. Image

I'm delighted that Marie has accepted to temporarily take on the role of Moderator in the 'Danser en francais' forum.

Caroline, forgive me if I respond in English. I'm delighted that you have found 'Danser' interesting and infomative. I have to say that here at criticaldance we are all delighted with the efforts of Cathy, Marie and the posters like yourself to bring this forum to life.
I understand your point about the postings box. Can I recommend that you write your longer contributions in Word or something similar with far more facilities, then copy and paste it into the posting box. Let us know if you need more information about this.
Thanks again for your positive comments which are much appreciated.

============================================
Thanks Caroline, I came only to discover your posting but I thank you for your advice and your kind speech.
It's true I try as Marie to put on this website all the information a true "balletomane" want to have, performances dates, booking dates, prize, website about theater, preview of performance, reviews and discussions about performance.
In september, we will try to make more posting about contemporary and modern dance, and we will make also interview of Dance actors.
