I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but...
Last night I went to see the WA Ballet's "Then and Now" programme, which was a quadruple bill (is that what you call it?). Anyway, it had 3 conemporary pieces and finished with classical variations from Le Corsaire. I have not seen this ballet before, so I know very little about it, but the dancers, especially the women, pulled it off with such style, it was the best fun I've had watching the WA Ballet in quite a while.
The whole classical thing is quite a break from tradition, as they usually do mostly contemporary or modern pieces, and any classical they have attempted has not, to my mind, been the best quality, possibly due to the fact that it is a little forreign. However, last night was absolutely brilliant! The costumes were beautiful, the set was lovely, and most of all, the dancers were amazing! Has anyone else in Perth and seen this and what are your thoughts?
