I am looking forward to seeing their performances.

Thanks a lot for this schedule, sachikom. Do tell us what you think of the performances you see.

I prefer modern ballet(dance) to classical ones.And especially Nijinsky and Winterreise are my favorite ones. So I am going to see Nijinsky in Tokyo and Winterreise in Hiroshima.
I have seen both in Hamburg, and Nijinsky in Hongkong. They moved me a lot.

On 27 Jan. the Japan tour of the Hamburg Ballet started.
One of my friends told me the yeterday's casting and How it was.

Princess Aurora:Silvia Azzoni
Prince Desire:Jiri Bubenicek
The Good Fairy:Heather Jurgensen
The Bad Fairy:Otto Bubenicek
Catalabutte & Blue Bird:Alexandre Riabko
Princess Florine:Elene Bouchet
The Queen:Laura Cazzaniga
The King:Sebastien Thill
Yukichi Hattori danced as one of the dornenmenschen.
All of them did wondefully.
After the performance, the dancers were greeted with standing ovation.

I should delete the above what I wrote. I eagerly would like to see their performances.

I saw Nijinsky in Tokyo on 3rd Feb, and Winterreise in Hiroshima on 9th Feb.
Nijinsky is always fascinating to me. The audience applauded enthusiastically. Especially, J. Bubenicek as Vaslav, Hattori as Stanislav, O. Bubenicek and Riabko as some of the Nijinsky dancers, Urban as Diaghilev, Riggins as Petrushka were so superb.
Winterreise in Hiroshima was very interesting to me. I felt another stories from the dancers who performed in Hiroshima, being different from the stores I had felt from Winterreise in Hamburg. I think Winterreise was performed only in Germany and Japan. It is not a joyful work to see, but I would like people all over the world to see it to feel and think something. The dancers in Hiroshima were aloso greeted with applause.
By the way, almost the dancers who came to Hiroshima on 8th, visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum immediately and were looking at the displays so seriously for a long time.
After the performane of Winterreise, some of the dancers said to me that to look at the displays of the museum helped him/her to understand their roles and the work or something like that(I'm sorry I cannot remember their words exactly). I was much moved by their words.

Thank you so much for telling us our impressions, sachikom. It was also interesting to hear abou the dancers visiting the Peace Memorial. It does not surprise me as peace issues are high on the agenda in Germany.

I'm hoping you will tell us more about your dance going experiences in the months to come.

No wonder about the sense of sorrow, intimate pain, and loneliness we felle watching this moving Winterreise. Neither wonder Neumeier chose to perform it in Hiroshima. The ballet was created immediately after Sept.11: the rehearsals were scheduled indeed just some days after the tragedy. So the intimate dolour all of us felt is in that ballet and in those 'strangers' walking alone in the winter of the soul.
