The Ballet National de Marseille Pietragalla will be premiering a new Giselle, at l'Opéra de Marseille on the 13th of May.
Choreography is by Eric Quilleré (pronounced key-yer-ray), premier danseur with POB and former guest principal with The Miami Ballet.
This is his first major commission.
For more info - http://www.ballet-de-marseille.com
Guys I have a photo to go with this, but can't work out how to get it on - this is no simple copy & paste job.
Help me!!!

Here's the link to Marie-Claude Pietragalla's personal site -
http://www.pietragalla.com/
I think it is one of the best dancer sites on the net. There are also a lot of great photos by Pascal Elliott Bourasseau & others. As well as music from her choreography to listen to! Very professional.
Maggie should love it for inspiration for her sculptures!
Intuvial should be plainly inspired by this woman!
Azlan & Stuart will appreciate her beauty!
I'm sure Jennifer will find it very interesting!
And Grace will just love it!

[This message has been edited by Michael Montgomery (edited May 10, 2000).]
[This message has been edited by Michael Montgomery (edited May 10, 2000).]

I have put off reporting this for a while, for several reasons, of which I shall mention two.
The performance of Pietragalla was excellent, but it was the worst version of Giselle I have ever witnessed...
and, I am submitting the review to my editor, so hopefully, you will have to wait to read all about it there.
[This message has been edited by Michael Montgomery (edited May 26, 2000).]

Hi Kevin!
I wouldn't hold your breath.
I've heard there's already talk of replacing it with the traditional version as soon as is legal. Which could be a good idea for the "under construction" repertoire of the company.(Petit took everything with him when he left).

[This message has been edited by Michael Montgomery (edited May 26, 2000).]
