I know this isn't exactly the US tour, but I thought people might like to see the agenda for their tour to Japan this week:

The Kirov's performances are enchanting.

Does it surprise anyone the performance schedule is not on the Mariinsky website?

I studied under Kathleen Crofton in Buffalo as a girl and Bronislava Guest instructed our class.
The same with Dame Markova.

Question: When and where did Crofton pass away?

I will appreciate any response.

df, I'm not surprised at all that information on the Mariinsky website is not up to date... And honestly, most arts company websites, with tight budgets, tend to be promotional relying instead on the venues, promoters and presenters to bring updated touring information to the local communities.

Hi df -

While I don't know about Crofton, I can tell you that in fact the Mariinsky web site *does* have up to date information on daily performances. You need to look under the "playbill" information on the left-hand column. They currently have all performances listed daily through Feb. 2004. You can also look under the opera section for those performances --they divide it into ballet and opera.

p.s. Edited to add, that it's best if you actually check the playbills on the theatre's facade. While I was there one performance I had hoped to see was cancelled...that sort of thing isn't always reflected on the web site. Or at least not right away.
