i just want to say, as much as i DO particularly enjoy this ISSUES forum, how nice it is to have three whole days go by - without any ISSUES!<P>after glasco/NBoC and martha graham co situation, not to mention Rent vs. Arts, it's been kinda wearing.....<P>

Michael, the Glasco site you give above just has a message thet the site has been taken down with no new site identified.<P>Do you know any more about this?

The biggest issue concerning me right now is that my latest issue of ArtSEARCH didn't arrive. When I called Theatre Communications Group to complain, they told me my subscription had expired.<P>Seems to be that it'd be a nice thing to do -- as well as good business -- to <I>tell</I> people when their subscriptions are about to lapse.<P>So if anyone has the most recent ArtSEARCH. . . .<BR><p>[This message has been edited by salzberg (edited August 09, 2000).]

That was very cruel of me! I’m sorry Grace! <BR>I thought you might get a giggle out of it. I am very surprised Glasco has chosen not to continue with some sort of Web site. I think it's interesting that magazine is more expensive when it weighs nothing. Ten dollars extra to get it emailed to you? Seems silly.

i've never heard of this option - seriously...are some mags making the whole thing available online, but password-protected or something?

Yes, grace. I subscribe to the on-line version of the UK consumer magazine, 'Which', but I have to say that it is a lot cheaper than the paper version. For a large organisation this will certainly make sense. However, you can see that for a small organisation the cost of setting up to deliver via the Internet may well be more expensive. However, I would cross-subsidise the Internet version to try to build up a presence ahead of any competitors.<P>

TCG's policy is that -- to get the listings by email, you have to also subscribe to the print version. . .even if you opt to not receive the hard-copy. I find this unfortunate, especially since a large percentage of their subscribers are, by definition, looking for jobs and therefore in need of pinching pennies.<P>It's not a "magazine", except in the strictest sense of the word; it's just a bunch of job listings, sorted by category (Artistic, Production, Administration, Educational, Career Development).
