Albrecht, the latest edition of the BBC Music Magazine says that she will step down as Deputy Chair of the Board of the ROH and Head of its Fundraising Trust, in January 2001.
[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited July 06, 2000).]

Please, is there any more news about Michael Kaiser's future, or about people likely to apply for his position? Thank You.

i copied this post by stuart (july 16) from another forum:
Image

Michael Kaiser

An article in The Sunday Times about the Royal Opera House, including a discussion about Kaiser's successor. We are told that, 'The job is that of a chief executive, not, as it was in the past, of artistic director of an opera company that happens to have the Royal Ballet attached. It means that the board is going to have to find a very rare creature indeed: a financially competent, politically astute, thick-skinned arts manager with no aspirations to run the shows himself.'

http://www.sunday-times.co.uk/news/pages/sti/00/07/16/sticulopa01003.html

One that I missed earlier. Sarah Billinghurst, artistic manager at New York's renowned Metropolitan Opera, has been visiting London to see the Kirov. She was very much in the frame last time around when Michael Kaiser was appointed.
It's amazing to think that this is already a topic for discussion.
http://www.guardianunlimited.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4041013,00.html
An interview with Michael Kaiser now that the dust has settled after his departure news. More a 'day in the life' than revelations about his departure. He's still enthusiatic about the ROH and the innovations that are still unfolding.
http://www.thisislondon.com/html/news.html
