Post subject:  Backstage talent keeps Houston's theater district hummi

From the Houston Chronicle:

Quote:
In the performing arts, the actors, singers, dancers and musicians get the spotlights and the applause.

A few offstage talents -- playwrights and composers, choreographers and directors -- come in for a share of the credit, too.

Yet there are hundreds of others behind the scenes whose crucial contributions make performances happen in Houston's downtown Theater District. Audiences may not know their names or even be aware that their jobs exist. But scan the staff in any company's program, and you'll realize how many people are working backstage to make that ongstage magic happen.

Here are just a few of the unseen stars and unsung heroes who work so diligently behind the scenes to make each performance a reality.
