Technical education

It is generally accepted in this country that education is a good thing - that is non-contentious. Venture any further on the subject and you find yourself in a sea of differing views. Everyone has an opinion on the content, accessibility and cost of education. The technical departments within the theatre industry are not exempt from this debate.

The subject broadly falls into two areas - there is pre-entry education for the profession and post-entry training. The myriad colleges, universities and the courses they offer cover the first area. The second is catered for by several organisations who compete to act as providers.
