Dear Dancers,
For the past 20 years I have been quietly photographing many major dance companies backstage. The work is in color (featured in many magazines: Dance, British Journal of Photography, PHOTOgraphic, Shutterbug, Photo Life, etc.)I need a few more companies. Can you suggest hospitable companies outside of US who have colorful costumes? Thanks & check my website:

Welcome, Michele!

You have some beautiful photographs. I'm wondering if there's a specific site on your website that shows more of your work specific to dance?

YOur backstage exhibit sounds very interesting - wish I was closer to Texas!

It's a new website & I am going to post as many Backstage images as possible when my web designer has time. So check it in awhile. Thanks for your interest!

Photographers, I am wondering how recent company woes have affected your work? Tighter budgets usually mean more constraints...but perhaps it has also lead to more creativity on your part? Both in marketing yourself, and in planning a shoot?

Good question Babs. I've quit the backstage series PRIMARILY because even after 20 YEARS of good behavior & great images, I cannot get permission without someone wanting free photos. I spent about 50K out of my own pocket ~ doing weddings to fund it. I really cannot afford to give away prints. But this is not understood.
