Just out of curiosity, lighting obviously can create mood. Any suggestions for the following moods:

sparkling-delicate-charming

colourful-breezy-lighthearted

enchanting-whimsical-romantic

These are the types of moods I am trying to portray in a new ballet! Not only with the use of costume and music but lighting also. Any suggestions, thoughts, comments more than welcome!

A professional lighting designer (or, for that matter, a talented amateur) can certainly create those moods, but it's not something that can adequately be described in a forum such as this one.

How such things are implemented depends on the theatre, the available equipment, the sets, the costumes...a myriad of variables. This is where you need to hre a professional.

What's so challenging about lighting is that words, such as those you use, Spangles, can mean many things to different people.

Sit a group of 8 people down and ask them to give you a color associated with the word fire, or water, or love, and you will probably get 6 different answers for each.

This emphasizes the importance for further communication between collaborators. One person's "romantic" could be another's "betrayal", etc.

I wonder, Spangles, what they mean to you, and what you are visualizing?
