Fascinating stuff about interns. I "teach" a group of youths (14 - 19) technical theatre stuff once a week. Basically they are the technical arm of the youth theatre, SM's, sparks, noise, set, cossies etc. I give them the tasks, stress some safety issues and let them find out for themselves. They ask if they can't figure it out. I agree that it is very hard to impart some years of knowledge into a teenager who has a personal agenda to prove to his/her peers. That is often the root of the problem so making a level playing field and letting them set their own standards works for me. I have to be careful and make sure they don't start to show off a bit. I rotate the tasks so they get the oppurtunity to try everything which finds their strengths and weaknesses and is often the great humbler. <BR>On a slighlty different note i would like the oppurtunity to take a busmans holiday in your fair and pleasent land and see how you do things across the waters and maybe bring some britishness with me!

Adam, are you reacting to the Summer Internships thread, or to the On Becoming an Intern thread?
