What type of job are you hoping to do as an intern? Perhaps this message would get a better response in the "Backstage" forum.
Well I hope to focus mainly on lighting or sound, but since it will be my first summer in summer stock, I am willing to take almost anything; besides, any experience in theatre will help. Location is really no problem, and other than that there is nothing much else. So basically I would like an internship that involver lighting/sound. Thanks for your help.

Smallman - I am going to move this thread into the Backstage Forum .....please follow me there. The moderators of that forum are specialists in the areas of theater in which are you are interested. I am sure they will give you excellent advice.
I should also mention that the moderators in this forum are busy people, and so you might have to check back for a while before they have a chance to answer you.
[This message has been edited by Basheva (edited March 19, 2002).]

Try http://www.monster.com
You can search by keyword (intern / internship), location, etc. Internships I've heard of include ACT, Lincoln Center, WNET (PBS), etc.
Also, many times (but not always) contacting an organization you are interested in and inquiring an internship (or creating one) proves to be profitable, especially if one does not already exist. Who could resist free help?

Two other very good sources for internship (or any other theatre job) listings are: playbill.com and backstagejobs.com

Here's a link to our previous On Becoming an Intern thread.
