Yes I know it may sound silly, but for Halloween I want to spray paint my pink tutu, black. The leotard part is black and the panties are pink. It is not a nice expensive costume or anything. I bought it at the second-hand store for $10 or something years ago. So I won't be too disappointed if my experiment fails. Has anyone ever tried this? Thanks in advance for helping with my question, and Happy Haunting!

As wierd as this sounds, I had an ex girlfriend who spray painted an entire outfit on and mailed me a picture! She was quite a unique individual to say the least ( she went to Rice if that helps ). Anyway, I think it can be done, but i would definitely use paints specifically designed because the amount chemical absorbtion is proportional to the skin surface area.
By the way, where do those guys that spraypaint themselves for Sunday football get their stuff? ;)

Never tried it. My one thought is that you would want to spray-paint each layer of tulle individually, rather than spraying just to the outside and hoping that the paint "soaks in" to the inner layers.

tulle is sort of hard to cover--try it with shoe spray paint maybe-i've found that it sometimes covers better. I'm afraid that it might turn out looking grey- it might be easier to just buy black tulle and remake the tutu part, cut off the exsisting tutu, using it as a pattern. Tulle is pretty in expensive and not too hard to gather and shape, if spray painting doesn't yeild the result your after. Or you could get something like cheap black lace and just attach that over what you already got. Happy Haunting!
