Quote:
As costume designer for the new Cirque du Soleil show Varekai, in Philadelphia through Oct. 20, the Oscar-winning, Tony-nominated artist takes the circus' penchant for the eye-popping to a whole new level.
There are outrageous animals (are they lizards? birds?) and a squad of otherwordly characters with horns, light bulbs or brilliantly colored knobs on their heads. She puts a troupe of youthful Chinese acrobats into weirdly bulbous blue suits, and outfits a team of high-flying Russians in costumes that appear to be aflame.
MORE... When you get to the newspaper article - look at the designer's picture and you will see 'more photos' click on that to see the truly extraordinary costumes.
