No matter what part of the world it comes from, dance music is most effective when it feels effortless. <a href=http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/living/home/6277421.htm target=_blank>more</a>

The boxy Perelman proved an excellent venue for Baobab. Seats were cleared from the room's plaza level to create a large dance floor that was crowded and in constant motion throughout the 90-minute performance.
That's the best way to experience a concert like this. It's so frustrating to go to regular theatrical venues to hear, e.g., various members of the Buena Vista Social Club set. When the music is meant for dancing, it's pretty hard to just sit.
