hi there. i am looking for dance routines that involve the use of a chair. any suggestions? i have read an article about choreography for using stairs and suggested routines (very interesting article indeed) and was just wondering if anyone has ever come across something similar involving a chair? it amazes me how creative one can be when actually using such objects. ha ha ha (sorry if this sounds like a rather strange request) ;)

"Swansong" is a work for three dancers and a chair and is available on video.

Chairs also play an important role in Robbins' "The Concert" and Mark Morris's "Dancing Honeymoon".

Check out any and ALL Fred Astaire movies. He is the MASTER of using props such as chairs in his routines. I know he does an incredible routine with a chair in one of his movies (I can't think right now which one...maybe someone out there can help us!).

And of course there's "Mein Herr" from "Cabaret."
