Palm Harbor's Amanda Weingarten won a spot to study with Suzanne Farrell.

The world of dance is filled with turns and tempo changes. One Palm Harbor teenager is learning just how fast ballet can move.

This summer, Amanda Weingarten, 17, graduated from high school, learned she was accepted to a prestigious dance program at the Kennedy Center and got her first permanent professional dancing job.

"Little by little every day I realize it," she said.

Lay Na Ballet Academy to hold a dance performance
From The Sarawak Tribune (first time for us I believe)


The Lay Na Ballet Academy will be presenting a dance performance entitled “Disney and Classical Inspirations” on 26 August 2004 (Thursday) at the Kenyalang Theatre.Organised by the Lions Club of Kuching Ixora, the function will be officiated by Guest-of-Honour District Governor 308A-2 Lion Tan Soh Har.

Proceeds from the performance will be channelled to carry out the club’s various projects and activities such as Sight First, Health and Drugs Awareness, Environmental, Education, Community Service and the Youth Outreach programmes. At the same time, part of the proceeds collected will be donated to various charitable organisations.
