i came across these products the other day.
Image
students will no doubt be very familar with them, but i try to avoid visiting dance shops, so i'm rather behind the times.
i see what kids bring into class, and keep meaning to investigate further - there is quite an array of self-help products available now (not to mention the fact that the shoes -especially pointe shoes, are MADE now to be MUCH more comfortable, to be quieter, and to better suit individual feet...). anyway, here's the site:
http://www.bunheads.com/
the gel products look particularly good:
http://www.bunheads.com/gellist.html
as someone with a bunion, who has tried every imaginative solution possible, never with any benefit, i am most impressed by their 'space pack', which really looks and feels like it will be useful and comfortable.
Image

Is it my imagination or, judging from the length of the toe nails, have the feet in the pictures EVER been on pointe!

my daughter has used the space makers from time to time. I think that they are pretty comfortable and don't really seem to affect the fit of the shoes (ballet or street). However, they do for some reason tend to pop out of place fairly easily...and this usually causes her to give up on them.
Just our experience....

well tuk - i suppose they WOULD use a very well-paid professional foot model, wouldn't they! good observation - i hadn't noticed!
mom2 - thanks for that comment; there's nothing like experience! i'll buy some anyway...and see....they did feel very nice and soft- as if one would not be conscious of wearing them. but if they constantly slip out....how annoying!
there are so many ways these days that people can relieve you of your money, based on minor 'needs'.....
