i am new to dance, and i am starting class within the month. i am 14. i am very weak and want to know how to make myself stronger in time for class, and during. :confused:

I would start some basic stretches. Try sitting with your legs straight in front of you and simply reach for your ankles, letting your head fall forward. Try this with flexed and pointed feet. Ask your school gym teacher for other simple stretches. You might also try to work on strengthening your abdominals. Good luck and enjoy class!

I think that Pilates is a good way to get some more strength in your center. There are some books available with good explanation and clear pictures. You can do it at home and build it up as much as you like. Good luck!
