A really nice article about Diana Turner Hauser, an ex-RB, ex-ABT dancer, running a school and fostering increased awareness of the Arts in Oradell, North Jersey. The article describes the satisfation she derives from her vocation and the delight she brings to the good folk of Oradell.
http://www.bergen.com/bcent/pmballet200005111.htm

And if you're wondering where Bergen and Oradell are, then here's a little map showing North Jersey, next to New York, which is what the area is called. I'm assuming it's the top bit on the map (I'm not as dumb as I look). Isn't it amazing what you learn here?
Image

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited May 13, 2000).]

Stuart--I enjoyed the "heads up" about the school in North Jersey. Small world--I grew up near there. My first ballet teacher was Irine Fokine who ran (and still runs) a school in Ridgewood, NJ. Interestingly, she is a niece, I believe, of the famous ballet choregrapher Michel Fokine,(who did the original "Dying Swan", "Scheherezade" "Petrouchka" and others.)

Another article about a remarkable dance teacher, Doris Jones who lead the way in teaching dancers of colour. She is still going at 88.
http://washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/print/style/A23629-2000May17.html
