For our overseas readers, Ofsted is the official body that reports on all schools and colleges in the UK. An Ofsted visit to a school is a tough time for any educational establishment and it is not a rubber-stamping process.

Here are two recent reports, in which both the institutions get "outstanding":

English National Ballet School’s two-year training course in Classical Ballet is outstanding, says Ofsted
From the Ofsted website

The Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) and the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) have today published their report on

the two-year training course in classical ballet at the English National Ballet School in West London.

On this occasion Ofsted inspected only the ballet school's two-year training course in classical ballet for students aged 16

to 19, for which the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) awards grant-aided places. Students are prepared for

employment with the English National Ballet company and other companies in England and abroad.

Three year Dance and Theatre course at Bird College is outstanding, Ofsted finds
From the Ofsted website

The Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) has today published its report on the three-year professional dance and

theatre arts course at Bird College in Kent.

Bird College is an independent dance-based performing arts college which was founded in 1954. On this occasion Ofsted

inspected only the three-year professional dance and theatre arts course, for which the Department for Education and Skills

(DfES) awards grant-aided places. The course leads to a national diploma in music theatre.
