BALLERINA HOLLIE LANDS MAJOR ROLE
From the Express and Echo

Devon teenager Hollie Da'Bell is dancing for joy after landing a part in a major production and starring in the show's publicity campaign.

Hollie, 15, from Exmouth, will grace thousands of posters advertising the National Youth Ballet's touring production of Cinderella.

Hollie, a student at Exmouth Community College, appears in the show and on the poster as the fairy godmother - a piece exclusively choreographed for her by Wayne Sleep.

Earlier this year, Hollie was chosen from over 1,000 young hopefuls for the role. Hollie, who lives at Sandy Bay, said: "I was over the moon to be chosen to appear on the poster.

National Youth Ballet Gala
By Gavin Roebuck for The Stage

The National Youth Ballet involves young dancers from across the country in all aspects of creating a ballet. Founded in 1988 by Jill Tookey, it is sad that this company, which encourages and develops future talent, still receives no major sponsorship.

Opening with Benjamin Britten’s Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra and choreographed by Janet Kinson, the youngsters as the orchestra and notes gave a spirited performance with David Webb dancing as the conductor.
