An article from 'The Jerusalem Post' about an inspired teacher who is finding new ways of reaching out to children wit hearing difficulties:
'Ask most people to define dancing, and they'll talk about elements like movement, grace, rhythm. But to veteran dancer/choreographer Ellida Geyra, dancing is no less than a bridge between art and the people who seldom experience it.'
http://www.jpost.com/Editions/2000/12/20
/Culture/CultureNews.17702.html

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited December 22, 2000).]

I am going to take the liberty of posting in here a link where it was discussed at some length the joys and challenges of teaching students with special needs.
It's wonderful to see that other teachers enjoy this too, like Ellida Geyra. Dance teachers sometimes are thought of as being in an ivory tower - but, in my opinion, that is obviously not true.
http://www.criticaldance.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000226.html
