i applied to columbia college in chicago to major in the dance program in the fall. <BR>does anyone know about this program and school? any opinions, since i have a lot of facts already??<BR>or maybe recommend any other good dance colleges that do not only focus on dance?<P>thanks! melissa

i bet trina can help out here, melissa...<P>being australian, i'm not much use re U.S. dance colleges...i can advise you about australian ones!<P>might i ask exactly what YOU want to achieve or experience in YOUR education? that affects the advice you get given, quite a bit...<P>also, can YOU tell US who the main dance teachers are there?<p>[This message has been edited by grace (edited 04-03-2000).]

Melissa...Columbia College focuses on modern dance., primarily. The last I heard, a woman named Jan Erkert was teaching modern there. Good choreographer, thoughtful...mature. I don't know much else than that.,.it's in Chicago, so you'll be exposed to a lot of good dance, both resident groups from Chicago and touring groups!!
