My current studio, which I've been going to for the past 10 years, has a main focus of jazz and competition. I started falling in love with ballet just 2 years ago and learned how far behind I am from the rest of the ballet world. I hope to someday be a professional ballerina, but my studio is holding me back. Should I stay at my current studio?

Run, don't walk, to the nearest and best ballet school. I've found that while they may be serious about wanting the results and benefits good ballet training provides, many dance studios of this type don't seem to want to commit to what it actually takes to achieve it -- the careful and methodical and daily rigor high-level technical training demands.
