In the New York Times, Clifford J. Levy writes an extensive feature article on two American students who are studying at the Bolshoi Academy in Moscow.

I watched the video linked to the article. I think it is really awful that she was forced to dance on such a bad foot; she broke it during the performance. This could have been career-ending for her...horrible. I don't care if they are the Bolshoi! Bad decision on their part...I don't agree with this behavior at all.

Mario Vitale Labrador of Alameda, California, will study at the Bolshoi Academy in Moscow beginning September 1, 2010. Jennifer Modenessi reports in the Contra Costa Times.

Arianna Lawson from Scarborough, Maine is also trying to raise the funds to attend the Bolshoi Academy. A report in the Portland Press Herald by Beth Quimby.
